super spring

baby Soleile arrived at the begining of April. our first several weeks together was a blur and we hoped right into May...

Happy Mothers day to mmmeeeeeee.
Had a great day with a home cooked breatkfast, lazy morning, and walk and relax at Goldne Gardens.

we enjoyed meeting daddy after work in parks...

and took her to Florian Schulz screening for "To the Arctic"... she did very well considering the noise
memorial day weekend with the Dixon and Masski families. Couldnt have made up a better picture for the weekend.

catch up smatch-up

last post was returning home from a couple weeks abroad.
at that time i was 14 weeks pregnant;-) eeek. 7 months later...
Soleile Joline Vining was born on April 2nd 2012, 9bs 11 oz, all natural at home with our loved ones.
She quickly got used to "our" schedule...meaning we tried to adapt to her sleep.
but we soon found it easier to include her in our "old" activities too...

Going to her first Sounders game, walk to nearby restaurants for coffee or dinner

our first "trip" to Long Beach for memorial day weekend 2012 (6 weeks old)

this is a catch up mission for blogging... i intend to keep up with our life adventures (hopefully)
lets see how it goes

the trip

Ohrid, Macedonia

it is strange how vacation clears you mind, relaxes your body and makes everything sweet and joyful.
back to life and the real world is harsh in comparison.

the weekend

glorious weekend in Seattle! Made for a nice day with the hubs

the art show

yes, i am currently showing at a deli in Seattle. set up Sunday night and spent a good 30 minutes fiddling with some tape and twine, thinking i would string up a level line and then, brilliantly lay 20 images along the same plane.

needless to say it didn't work out that way...
here is the main room of the deli, showing the larger pieces...
Showing now through July!

Seattle-likes and the weekend

Summer! Summer is the best in Seattle! really we don't have a Spring. in fact this spring was especially horrible, gloomy and wet. But this was our first sunny weekend, and oh was it glorious!
our small fenced in yard has given me plenty of inspiration over the last couple of days. nature's memory and resilience is quite inspiring. and it gives me endless photographic subjects

Went for a quick overnight in Vancouver, BC Canada! Took the bus from Seattle to Vancouver, which was surprisingly pleasant. except for those damn bus seats.
Saturday morning we went to the fabulous Gainsville Island.

Walked around, meandered through the fresh public market, and stumbled upon this street performer. HIGH-larious!

I dont know if you can see the detail close enough... but these were all decorated with precision!
i got Mint, salted truffle, cinnamon and irish cream. mmm mmm good.
